Soaking in the rock-lined outdoor onsen was the highlight. Watching the snow-covered pines while relaxing in the mineral bath is something I’ll never forget. The onsen experience felt magical, especially in the chilly weather. Our stay included a fantastic shower curtain in the bathroom and fluffy electric blankets that kept us warm. The meals were a delight, each dish brimming with flavor and made with seasonal ingredients. Breakfast and dinner were extraordinary, and staff catered beautifully to my dietary preferences. The private onsen was a lovely touch, especially for couples. However, the outdoor bath did have a slight chlorine smell, which slightly took away from its charm. The room was cozy, but the furnishings felt a bit older, even though that added to the charm. Transport to and from the station was seamless with their shuttle service, but more frequency would enhance convenience. In summary, this ryokan provided an overall memorable experience that I'd love to repeat in the future.

A Perfect Getaway for Couples
The food was a major highlight, every course was incredible! And the onsen experience was simply amazing, especially that outdoor one surrounded by nature. I had the chance to stargaze, which was a bonus, and Ootaki-san made our stay so personal and warm, attending to our every request and making us feel right at home.
It wasn’t exactly cheap, but worth every penny for the experience.

rock-lined outdoor onsen, cozy reading space, stargazing session
Should really consider increasing shuttle service hours for better accessibility!!! The carpets in the public areas could use some serious refresh, as they seem a bit faded!!! A bit more attention to the room decor wouldn't hurt!!!

Had an awesome stay! The private onsen felt super relaxing after a long hike, and dinner was absolutely delicious—definitely a highlight. The room was spacious but a bit dated, could use some touch-ups, but that didn’t take away from the experience at all!

The hotel was situated in nature, offering a peaceful ambiance that complemented the lovely onsen. Dinners were particularly exceptional, showcasing local seasonal produce, making each meal a delight. Although staff were warm, some struggled with English, which posed no problem at all.
